Houston man vandalizes Picasso painting

Posted: Updated:

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -- A smart phone user says he caught a man spray painting one of Pablo Picasso works in a Houston museum.

The video shows a man walking up to an original 1929 Picasso painting at the Menil Collection and spraying a picture of a bull with the word "conquista" below it, which means conquer in Spanish, before taking off.

The witness doesn't want to show his face, but he says he's the one who caught the whole thing on camera.

"I was texting somebody on my phone and, as soon as I saw him walk over toward the Picasso, I pressed the record button on my camera app, it only took one second, he spray painted it and then walked off."

The painting is no longer on display. So far, no one has been arrested.
