UPDATE -- At 8:00 p.m... Thunderstorms are north of Mount Pleasant, over the western end of Lake O' the Pines and just northeast of San Augustine moving northward. Precipitation will continue to weaken with the setting sun and end before midnight. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday mostly over the west side of our area. Get ready for higher temperatures with little rainfall over the next week.
(UPDATE 3:45 p.m.) - We are still seeing a lot of lightning in storms across Cass and eastern Marion counties. Also, a lot of lighting is around Terrell and north of Corsicana.
Another cluster of showers and thunderstorms is moving northward into southern Cherokee County from western Angelina County. Rain is also along the Trinity River in southwest Anderson County.
Another thunderstorm is moving south to north over Toledo Bend. Nothing severe at this time, and no organized severe weather is expected.
TYLER (KYTX) - Showers and thunderstorms are more numerous today and got an earlier start than on Monday as forecast.
No severe weather has been reported, nor is any organized severe weather expected.
The storms will produce cloud-to-ground lightning, gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall. They will also cool the air giving us some relief from the heat which will reach 90 degrees outside of the rain areas.
The scattered storms are moving northward and stretch from the I-30 corridor near Mount Pleasant to the Lake Livingston vicinity at 1:30 p.m.
