EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -- A unique perk for guests of a hotel in the Midwest.
Hotel management is making sure guests don't get lonely or bored during their visits. The University Plaza checks out goldfish to their guests.
That's right, you can get a goldfish with your room.
Hotel staff looks after the goldfish and feeds them at night. The general manager says watching the fish is relaxing for the guests.
"When you think of going back to when you were a kid, hotels were fun," General Manager Robert Henley said. "When I got started in the business, hotels were fun. We just want to make sure at University Plaza we continue making it fun."
The fish even have personal biographies written on their bowls. Hotel staff say they enjoy having them around, too.
