(CNN) - Forget buying a getaway home in Hawaii, one billionaire just bought a getaway island.
Oracle CEO Larry Ellison purchased 98% of the island of Lana'i. Hawaii's governor says Ellison loves the ocean and has had a long-standing interest in the 141 square mile island. A local paper says Lana'i used to grow 75% of the world's pineapples.
Its last owner is the majority stock holder for dole food company, which produces and markets fresh fruits --including pineapples. The price hasn't been disclosed, but Bloomberg reports it is in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
So what did Ellison get for his purchase price? Two resort hotels, a championship golf course, 88,000 acres of land and a solar farm. Ellison is number six on the Forbes World Billionaires list with a net worth of $36 billion dollars.
Singer Rihanna is returning to the big screen. Well, at least her voice is. She's playing one of the two lead roles in the animated film Happy Smekday! The Dreamworks movie is based on Adam Rex's book The True Meaning of Smekday. The studio plans to release it in late 2014. Rihanna recently made her live action movie debut in "Battleship."
You can get your vacation clothes at Sears and book the vacation too. The retailer launched its latest website, searsvacations.com, this week. The site offers leisure travel and vacation packages.
Travelers can also book flights, hotels, cruises and car rentals. Sears offers a "best price guarantee." The company also offers a flexible payment plan popular in retail -- that you probably haven't seen for travel before.
Sears is allowing customers to put a future vacation on layaway-- or use a Sears credit card or gift card to finance the trip.
