HARRISON COUNTY -- Harrison County Deputies assisted the US Fish and Wildlife Service Refuge Officer during an arrest involving the theft of a bulldozer on June 20, 2012 from the federal land-holding. Jason Roesner with USFWS notified the Harrison County Sheriff's Office that a bulldozer had been taken during the early morning hours from the Refuge on June 20, 2012.The Refuge Forester, John Stephens, Fire Fighter, Josh Bardwell, and Refuge Manager, Mark Williams assisted Roesner in following the tracks from where the bulldozer was parked to a residence adjacent to the Refuge on FM 2198 in Karnack. During an interview with occupants at the residence and the suspect, Antone Czajkowski, W/M/09-28-86, it was determined he had "borrowed" the bulldozer to do some work on his father's property. The bulldozer was taken through a gate along FM 2198 and the tracks led directly to the residence of Czajkowski. Roesner commented "Sometimes, you really can just follow the tracks".

In a related matter, on June 19, 2012, Harrison County Deputies answered a call to the Refuge regarding a theft of metals on the portion of the property that is controlled by the US Army (Shaw Environmental). It was determined that the metals had been sold in Marshall, Texas by an acquaintance of Czajkowski on June 19, 2012. Video evidence from the sale of the metals was recovered and warrants will be issued for the arrest of the suspects in that theft.
