EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -- The $25 million project to restore the Governor's mansion in Texas is almost complete. An arson attack in 2008 heavily damaged the historic home in Austin. While the work on the house is almost done, the work on the case is quite unfinished.
Four years ago, Robert Debelyak was in downtown Austin the night the Governor's mansion was set on fire.
"Went home, saw it on the news," he said. "Couldn't believe it. It's like right around the corner."
Today, what he can't he believe is a lack of an arrest in the case.
"I just think it's a bunch of hoohaw," he said. "That's just me."
The Department of Public Safety says the case is still open and a year and a half ago, Texas Rangers released these pictures of persons of interest.
That was February, 2011.
Today, DPS say those same people are still persons of interest. But no arrests have been made.
Texans like Clessie Burnett, expressed concern over the lack of movement.
"Why don't you make an arrest," Burnett said. "I mean, it's kind of strange, you know. You got all the evidence. Why not?"
Other people say, in terms of suspects still being on the loose, this crime isn't a major concern.
DPS says all it often takes to solve a crime like this is one break, one tip.
The reward for information is $50,000.
Governor Rick Perry and his wife are expected to move back to the house in late July.
