TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler Fire Department responded to a fire near UT Health Science Center in Tyler shortly after 9 Friday morning.

The Exxon gas station, at the intersection of Hwy. 165 and Hwy. 271, sustained minimal damage to the structure from the fire that reportedly started outside of the back door to the station.

The fire was quickly extinguished and at this time the cause is unknown.

Placing his sandwich on the plastic plate and wiping his mouth with a napkin, Elkhart Fire Chief Jim Bob Parker laid out the plan should the Eldorado Agriculture Plant explode.
"If it catches fire, we are going to evacuate. That is our plan," Parker, also the Elkhart State Bank president, said.
