Most successful Clays for Kids event yet

Posted: Updated:

TYLER (KYTX) - Lots of East Texans spent their Saturday shooting clays for a good cause.

The Rose City Flying Clays in Tyler helped host the fourth annual "Clays for Kids" event, raising money for the local March of Dimes.

Every penny goes to families with premature babies.

Organizer Nancy Johnson says it's the most successful event they've had yet.

"We have had so much community support. We [had] 12 teams out shooting, we have lots of support from local businesses and this event keeps growing and growing every year," Johnson says.

Many of the 60 people who competed today won awards, and bragging rights.

This year's goal was to make between $10,000 and $12,000.
