Consumer Corner: Facebook friends not "liking" new email

Posted: Updated:

(CNN/CBS) - Facebook users are starting to see what some call an unpleasant surprise on their profile pages.  The social network is now setting every user's default email to an "@facebook.com" address.  That's the address that other users see on your page if they want to send you an email.

A facebook representative says the email change is rolling out to all 900 million users.  Users can change the default email address to anything they want by editing the "contact info" section of their profiles.

The Wall Street Journal reports Orbitz is trying out ways of showing different hotel options to Mac users based on that data.  Orbitz also found Mac users are about 40% more likely to book a 4-star or 5-star hotel.  The travel agency stresses that it does not show the same rooms to Mac and Windows users, with different prices.
