
13-year-old pole vaulter Austin Jones, of Arp, is off to the Junior Olympics at the end of July. He qualified by winning the AAU Nationals in Burleson on June 24th. He placed first against four other pole vaulters in Area 21. He jumped 10 feet and didn't have any misses until his final attempt. He'll have to jump at least one foot higher to compete and place in the Junior Olympics which are set for July 30th.
