FORT WORTH (KTVT) -- Police are still searching for the person who murdered a 17 year old girl and left her body at the back door of a stranger's home Thursday night.
The victim was identified Friday afternoon by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as Claudia Hidic, 17, of Fort Worth. Police say a homeowner in the 3000 block of West Overton Drive came home to find a woman face down at the back door of his home. The back door had also been kicked in.
The medical examiner confirmed Hidic died from a gunshot wound to the head. The homeowner told police he did not know the victim.
Police spent several hours combing the crime indoor and outdoor crime scene.
One neighbor, who did not want to be identified, told CBS 11 he heard strange noises coming from his neighbor's home around the time the shooting occurred.
"It was a loud bang. I thought something backfired," he said. "I don't instantly think about a gunshot in this neighborhood."
No suspects have been named in the case, which has some neighbors worried.
"I've got two kids that have asked me, ‘Are we safe?" the man said.
