UPDATE: Man killed in industrial accident identified

UPDATE (1:08 p.m.) - Authorities have released the identity of the man killed in a Thursday morning accident in Chireno.

Jeremiah Neely, of the Longview/Kilgore area, died from injuries sustained after being hit by a metal end cap that flew off the high-pressure water system pipe at a fracking site he was working on.

Nacogdoches Sheriff authorities tell CBS 19 that one of the two people injured in the accident has been released from the hospital while the other injured person is still being treated.

No word on the extent of the injuries each person has received at this time. Authorities do say that the injuries both people received were from being hit by the high-pressure water that exploded from the pipe.

 


NACOGDOCHES COUNTY (KYTX) - According Nacogdoches Sheriff Thomas Kerss one person was killed and two injured in an industrial incident Southwest of Chireno off CR 445 shortly before 8 Thursday morning.

Kerss told CBS 19 two were seriously injured and transported to Nacogdoches Medical Center.

The victims' identities have not been released.
