Grass fire near The Villages contained

UPDATE: Grass fire in near The Villages on Lake Palestine in the Flint area was contained by Noonday Volunteer Fire Department and Flint-Gresham Volunteer Fire Department, according to Smith County Fire Marshal Jim Seaton.

The fire burned two to four acres of grass land. It caused no structure damages or injures.

Seaton believes the fire, which started around 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, was started by fireworks.

Dispatchers with the Smith County Sheriff's Office confirmed a grass fire is burning near The Villages on Lake Palestine in the Flint area.

According to officials, Noonday Volunteer Fire Department and Flint-Gresham Volunteer Fire Department are working to control the blaze.

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -- Firefighters are on the scene of a grass fire near The Villages East off of County Road 1108 and Big Eddy Road.

Flint-Gresham and Noonday Fire Departments are fighting the flames that are close to structures and power lines.
