June jobs report released today

(CBS) - The June unemployment numbers will be released today. There is cautious optimism that June will be better than May thanks to a new report out Thursday. The government said fewer people applied for unemployment benefits last week. And a survey of private companies showed hiring increased in June. Economists are predicting employers added 90-thousand jobs last month with the unemployment rate staying the same.

(CBS) - One person who is eagerly awaiting the report is President Barack Obama. The President will continue his campaign bus tour of Ohio and Pennsylvania today. The President's chances of winning re-election will be greatly improved if the economy gets stronger. Mitt Romney says the President has failed to deliver a better economy and that's why he deserves a chance to be President.
