EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -- New information on an East Texas man who may have been lying about being one of the Tuskegee Airmen -- the first African American pilots in World War II.

The State Veterans Land Board is going to meet July 26 in Austin to see if it should keep Sam Garrison's name on the veterans home in Tyler.

Sam Garrison passed away last year.

He was known for telling mesmerizing stories of flying in the war. But, none of the records from the Tuskegee Airmen National Office show he was part of the distinguished group.
