TYLER (KYTX) -- A new development in the case of the retired Tyler dentist accused of shooting and killing his wife.

He will go on trial for murder.

A Smith County grand jury has indicted Bobby Nichols for killing 71-year-old Rosiland Nichols June 29.

According to the arrest affidavit, Nichols and his wife were arguing in their South Tyler home before he left to get a gun and then shot her twice.

Doctor Nichols bonded out of the Smith County Jail on July 5.
