SYRIA (CBS) - Heavy fighting between government troops and rebel forces is taking place in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

The violence has even come with a couple of miles of President Bashar Al-Assad's presidential compound. The U.S. has been pushing for Assad to step down. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reiterated that position saying that this can only end when Assad is out of office.
