Trampolines, sleigh beds recalled due to fall hazard

Released by the U.S. Consumer of Product Safety Commission

EAST TEXAS -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Trampolines Recalled by Panline USA Due to Fall Hazard

Name of product: Alex (r) Model 786X Little Jumpers Trampoline

Units: About 8,000

Importer: Panline USA Inc., Northvale, N.J.

Hazard: The handlebar can break, causing a fall hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: None.

Sold at: Independent specialty toy and retail stores from January through March 2012 for about $100.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact the firm for instructions on receiving a replacement trampoline.




Samuel Lawrence Furniture Expands Recall of Sleigh Beds Due to Fall Hazard

Name of Product: Full- and Twin-Size Bordeaux Collection Bed Frames

Units: About 2,400 in the United States and 100 in Canada. (In June, the firm recalled about 18,400 King- and Queen-size beds in the United States and 1,250 in Canada)

Importer: Samuel Lawrence Furniture, of High Point, N.C.

Manufacturer: Poh Huat Furniture Ind., of Malaysia

Hazard: The hardware holding the headboard and footboard can loosen or detach, posing a fall hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received more than 100 reports of headboards or footboards detaching, including one report of a Florida man who injured his foot when a footboard detached.

Sold at: Furniture stores nationwide from August 2009 to April 2012 for between $300 and $400.

Manufactured in: Malaysia

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled beds and contact Samuel Lawrence Furniture to obtain a free repair kit.
