LONGVIEW (KYTX) -- Longview Sanitation employee Cris Hudson is preparing for a national competition. It's for truck drivers and is hosted by the Solid Waste Association.
Hudson won the local competition, then placed 2nd at state in June. Hudson has worked for the city for two years.
Winning won't be easy, there are seven categories in which contestants will be judged.
"You do a pre-trip test," Hudson said. "You do an air break test, written test, and then you drive through a set of obstacles. Parallel parking, an off-set alley, how you do a straight line, how to back into a dock."
The national competition will be September 15 in Lexington, Kentucky.
