AURORA, CO (CNN) - Police say 12 people were killed in a shooting at an overnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises".

It happened at a theater near Denver. About 38 other people were wounded.
Police say a suspect, a man in his early 20s, is in custody. Witnesses say someone set off a smoke bomb or perhaps pepper spray before the shooting. Police say the suspect made comments about possibly having explosives in his apartment.
