(KCEN) -- An elderly man who shot his wife then himself has died in Leon County.

The couple's son found them both Wednesday at their home off FM 977.

The man and wife, both in their 80s, were each shot once.

Medical crews life-flighted the man to the hospital. His wife was already dead.

Investigators believe the husband shot his wife, then himself.

Neighbors are shocked and say the couple was well respected and known as good people.
