EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -- Today the Rose Festival season officially began.

The summer luncheon at Willow Brook Country Club was a chance for the queen and the duchesses to gather together and get to know each other.

The event honored Rose Queen Haley Anderson and the Rose Duchess Joy Ramey.

Queen Haley was excited to meet all the duchesses who came in from out of town.

"It's great," she said. "I love everyone and I'm so thankful for everyone being here and supporting me. It's going to be a good year."

Tickets for Rose Festival events go on sale Sept. 4.
