AURORA, CO (CBS) - The suspect in Friday's deadly theater mass shooting will make his first appearance in court today.

24-year-old James Eagan Holmes will be arraigned on charges of killing 12 people and wounding dozens more. Friday's shooting spree happened at the opening of the latest Batman movie in Aurora, Colorado. Police say Holmes planned the shooting for months, spending thousands of dollars on guns, ammunition and body armor.

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama visited with the families of the victims of the Colorado theater shooting Sunday. The President says he told them that the country stands with them. The town of Aurora also had the opportunity to say goodbye. Hundreds of people attended a vigil remembering the people shot and killed in the massacre.
