UPDATE- Bell County confirmed it's first suspected case of West Nile Virus Thursday.

McLennan County confirmed two new cases and a third suspected case.

This brings McLennan County's total up to nine confirmed cases.

(KCEN) -- One person is dead after contracting West Nile Virus.

According to the McLennan County Public Health District the woman was in her 80s.

There have been five confirmed cases of West Nile Virus in McLennan County with three additional suspected cases.

The elderly and people with compromised immune systems are at greatest risk for complications.
