Ex-Nacogdoches banker faces 30 years for bank fraud

LUFKIN (KYTX) - An ex-Nacogdoches bank president faces up to 30 years in federal prison and as much as a $1 million fine, after prosecutors said Monday he pled guilty to bank fraud.

Willard T. Scott, 33, was president of Huntington State Bank's Nacogdoches branch in April 2010 when, according to prosecutors, he entered a falsified records on a customer's checking account for nearly $7,400 for a loan payment. He instead used the money to pay his home contractor.

Scott remains free until his sentencing date, which has not been set.
