We're not far from the Lake Cherokee water department, on private property where neighbors have let us back here to get some footage of the lake. Gregg County Sheriff's Department has had search rescue boats out here all afternoon. At this point investigators aren't releasing much information about what happened. We can tell you the man went missing from a pontoon boat late last night"

Search and rescue teams with the Gregg County Sheriff's Department and DPS were out on the north side of Lake Cherokee Tuesday, looking for 44-year old Kim Grounds of Mount Enterprise.

Investigators say Grounds was on a pontoon boat with a woman Monday night when he went missing. We're told Grounds said he wanted to go for a swim but never came back to shore.

He was reported missing around 2:00 Tuesday morning.

Investigators say the woman was still on the boat - they aren't releasing her name.

The Gregg County Sheriff's Department says grounds was visiting family members at the private lake.

They're trying to piece together the events surrounding grounds's disappearance as they continue to search the water.

The Gregg County Sheriff's Department is still investigating, and at this point, deputies say they do think alcohol was involved.

Sheriff Maxey Cerliano tells us rescue teams will continue their search tonight. Again, investigators aren't releasing the woman's name. We're told she could be from the Rusk County area. Because it is a private lake, those at Lake Cherokee aren't releasing any information about Grounds's disappearance or who he was with.
