HARRISON COUNTY (KYTX) - Harrison County officials are investigating a residential burglary that occurred this morning east of Longview.

County 911 dispatchers received a call at about 11:15 a.m. regarding a residential burglary at 4435 Smelley Rd. in Hallsville. The complainant, an 81-year-old resident, saw 2 black males enter the residence. The victim retrieved his .38 revolver and confronted the suspects.

The suspects struggled with the complainant for a few minutes and disarmed him. He stated one of the suspects then struck him with the weapon in the forehead, knocking him to the ground. They then fled the location in a two-door black small vehicle with the weapon.

Shortly after this offense had occurred, a burglary was committed in Lakeport in Gregg County, and the witness inside the residence described similar suspects and clothing, as well as a similar vehicle.

Texas DPS Trooper Brandon Smith, assigned to Gregg County, observed a vehicle matching the description and occupied by two black males and a black female that matched the clothing description of the suspects of the burglary on Smelley Rd.

Trooper Smith initiated a traffic stop on FM 2011 in Gregg County. As the Trooper approached the vehicle, he observed a .38 revolver in the vehicle. The weapon was removed from the vehicle and after checking the serial number, found that revolver to be the reported weapon that was taken during the burglary from the Harrison County resident.

The occupants of the vehicle were arrested and transported to Gregg County Sheriff's Office and are being interviewed.

Arrested were 23-year-old Bruce Vactor, 30-year-old Jeremy Jermaine Jackson and 24-year-old Brittany Cherelle Bush, all of Longview.
