EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Texas Department of Transportation Tyler District spokesman Larry Krantz announced today several road projects taking place around East Texas.
Crews are scheduled to work from 7 p.m.-5 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays repairing and then resurfacing the roadway. Temporary lane-closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and motorists should be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zone.
Also this week in Smith County, maintenance crews are scheduled to perform base and pavement repairs on FM 2908 east of Tyler between Texas 31 and Interstate 20.
In Wood County, a district-wide seal coat job is scheduled to end this week on FM 2869 between Winnsboro and Hawkins. A second crew will perform that same preventative maintenance on FM 3056 between U.S. 80 and FM 778, and later on FM 312 between Winnsboro and Pine Mills over the next two weeks.
In Gregg County, nighttime resurfacing work concludes this week on McCann Road in Longview, between Marshall Avenue and North Loop 281. The work is taking place Sunday through Thursday between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting.

In Van Zandt County, crews will begin an estimated three-week pavement repair job on U.S. 80 between FM 859 in Edgewood and Texas 19.
In Smith County, night work on WSW Loop 323 is scheduled to continue for several weeks. The work is taking place between Frankston Highway and Bellwood Drive, just south of the railroad overpass near West Front Street.
In Anderson County, crews will perform shoulder work on FM 860 between U.S. 287 and Texas 19.
In Henderson County, base and pavement repairs will resume on FM 1615, between Texas 19 south of Athens and the end of state maintenance.
In Cherokee County, crews will resume shoulder work on FM 855, beginning Monday, Aug. 6.
Lane closures could be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers and pilot vehicles will control traffic. Loose gravel may be present for several days following a seal coat application.
