LONGVIEW (KYTX) – A 33-year-old Longview man was jailed early this morning on burglary, criminal mischief and resisting arrest charges.

According to Longview police spokeswoman Kristie Brian, someone kicked in the rear door of a residence near Ingram Park, located near the intersection of Ingram and Ninth streets, some time before 3:30 a.m. The suspect attempted to assault a victim in the home and also caused damaged to the victim's vehicle.

Police were called to the scene, and the suspect, later identified as Adam Salazar Rivas, returned to the scene. He saw police and tried to run away but was later apprehended, Brian said.

Rivas remains in the Gregg County Jail on $13,500 bond.
