EAST MOUNTAIN (KYTX) – A 46-year-old has been arrested in connection with a weekend stabbing death.

According to a media release, East Mountain police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 7200 block of FM 3358 at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Investigators determined that an argument at the residence led to a fatal stabbing.

East Mountain Interim Police Chief Betty Davis said James Nathaniel Nash was taken into custody, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He remains in the Upshur County Jail in Gilmer on $1 million bond.

Upshur County online records do not list a residence for Nash. According to Gregg County Jail records, in the past two decades, Nash has lived in Gladewater, Longview and Euless.

No further information is available at this time, pending notification of the victim's family members, according to the release. Davis credited Upshur County sheriff's deputies and criminal investigation detectives, Gilmer police and Longview police with their help in the investigation.
