SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) -- Tyler Police, Whitehouse Police and the U.S. Marshals worked together Monday morning on the arrest of a central Texas man who allegedly shot and injured two people Sunday night on Shaw Street in Tyler.
22-year-old Undra Choice of Elgin was arrested near Lake Tyler.
Neighbors told CBS 19 the house where the shooting happened in the 1000 block of Shaw Street was nothing but trouble. They said Sunday night there was a large group of people both inside and outside and most of them were drunk.
Neighbors said a fight over rent money led to gunfire right in the middle of the street.
Police told CBS 19 a man named Reginald Pullum and a woman named Victoria Ferguson were both hit. Neighbors who watched investigators comb the street said there were fifteen to twenty casings all over the place by the time it was done.
"Any time that we have a major crime against a person that we can make an arrest quickly, it works well to our advantage," Detective Doyle Lynch with the Tyler Police Department said.
Pullum was listed in serious condition at Mother Frances Hospital Monday afternoon. Ferguson was treated and released.
Choice is facing two counts of aggravated assault. He's being held in the Smith County Jail, and his bond for the two charges totals $600,000.
