TYLER (KYTX) - A Tyler hairstylist says she's guilty of giving clients illegal breast and buttocks enhancements in her North Tyler salon.
Carmel "CC" Foster pleaded guilty in a Smith County courtroom on two counts of practicing medicine without a license.
Foster waived her right to a jury trial Tuesday morning. Instead, she pleaded guilty to two separate charges of practicing medicine without a license.
Foster was accused of performing breast and buttocks injections with strange substances in her Queen Divas salon.
In past interviews, witnesses who asked not to be identified, described what they saw.
"Slippery and it almost looks like sanitizer. It has the bubbles and stuff, so it's thick. Yes, really thick and just stays on there," said a witness.
Police say one of Foster's clients, Sheena Bradford, was taken to Good Shepherd hospital, in Longview, in February, after complaining of severe chest pain, the day after having the procedure done on her breasts.
She was released from the hospital later that month.
Another client, Kenya Sheppard made similar allegations.
Foster was later arrested and put in the Smith County jail.
A former cell mate told us earlier this month that Foster told her she had been set up. She said Foster claimed she never gave the injections at the salon.
Foster told her it was done at a party and that one of Foster's alleged victims was actually beaten by her own girlfriend before going to the hospital.
Foster's former cell mate believed her. "God uses her a lot. When I was there, she prayed for a lot of people, and the next day they went home. She told them 'you're going to go home,' and they did," said Maria Sandoval.
Five months later, Carmel Foster pleads guilty to practicing medicine illegally.
However, why she made the decision to plead guilty, when she previously denied doing anything wrong, still remains a question.
Foster is facing anywhere from 2 to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Judge Russell told her Tuesday morning she is not eligible for parole because of a prior felony conviction.
The sentencing phase of Foster's trial will be August 31st.
