Mailbox thefts continue in Rusk County

Rusk County Sheriff's Department:

RUSK COUNTY (KYTX) - The mailbox thefts are continuing in Northern Rusk County. Investigators received approximately 10 additional cases last week.

However, investigators have received a description of a vehicle that may be connected to the thefts. Anyone noticing suspicious activity involving a BLACK NISSAN SUV with a white male or white female driver are ask to call the Rusk County Sheriff's Office immediately.

Anyone discovering mail alongside roadways or any other unusual areas should not attempt to remove but call law enforcement immediately.

Until the suspect(s) are apprehended we advise citizens to avoid rural mailboxes when sending OUTGOING mail.

The Postal Inspectors are meeting with Rusk County Investigators this week.
