Gregg County homicide trial continues

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Testimony continues today in a Gregg County murder trial.

James Nathan Alexander, 35, of Gilmer, is accused in the July 2010 fatal shooting of Brian Keith Barnett at the Riverside RV Park on Texas 42 at the Sabine River. If convicted, he faces between five and 99 years or life in prison.

Alexander has been in the Gregg County Jail since June 15, when he was arrested on new charges of displaying a fictitious motor vehicle registration and stealing a firearm while he was out on bond.

The trial is taking place in the 188th District Court of Gregg County Courthouse, with Judge David Brabham presiding over the case.
