Small-engine plane crash reported near Holly Lake

DPS says the plane crash happened around noon.
 
The pilot left the Wood County airport, headed for the Gilmer Airport when he experienced engine
trouble. Investigators say he turned around and started back for the Holly Lake Ranch airport when he clipped some trees and landed upside down about 100 yards away from the airport.
 
First responders pulled him from the plane and took him to a Longview hospital. We do not have his name, age or the extent of his injuries.
 
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating. The trooper also said the  plane was being taken for maintenance, and the pilot was not the owner of the plane.

TYLER (KYTX) - A single engine Beechcraft aircraft went down around 1 this afternoon on the east end of the Holly Lake Ranch Airport.
 
According to DPS, the plane suffered engine problems as it was headed from the Wood County Airport in Mineola to the Gilmer Airport.
 
The pilot was pulled from the aircraft by Holly Lake Firefighters and EMS. The pilot was injured and transported to a Longview hospital. The extent of the injuries are unknown.
