SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) - A Lindale firefighter has been charged with driving while intoxicated after reportedly going over 100 mph and crashing into a north Tyler gas station last November.

According to Smith County Sheriff's records, Christopher Michael Combs, 26, of Lindale was arrested Sunday, July 29 and bonded out shortly after.

Tyler Police reported Combs wrecked his car at the Pit Stop Exxon on Gentry Parkway around 2:45 a.m. on November 27, 2011.

Reps with the Lindale Fire Department tells KYTX CBS 19 that Combs is currently on indefinite suspension from the department.

Managers at the gas station say the business is still recovering from the damage.
