Tyler police investigate two early Wednesday shootings

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler police are investigating two deadly conduct cases from early Wednesday.

At 2:03 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to a home in the 900 block of South Kennedy Ave. An unknown suspect shot two rounds into the back of a residence occupied by a 63-year-old man. No one was injured.

"We do not know at this time if it was intentional or accidental," Tyler police spokesman Don Martin said.

At 5:09 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the River Oaks Apartments in the 4400 block of Troup Highway, after an apartment tenant accidentally discharged his firearm in his apartment, Martin said.

"The bullet went up into the apartment above him," Martin said. "No was injured and the tenants above does not wish to file charges."
