UPSHUR COUNTY (KYTX) - Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are looking for a man they say injured a state trooper in a scuffle before taking off into the woods this morning.

We're told it started with a traffic stop on U.S. 271 south of Gilmer.

DPS says the suspect is Sawyer Lacaze, of Pittsburg. This is a mugshot from an unrelated arrest in Wood County in 2010.

DPS says Lacaze got into a fight with Trooper Brandon Love during the stop and injured him before running into the woods.

Trooper Love was treated for a leg injury and released.
