TYLER (KYTX) - The Tyler Independent School District is excited to present its new logo and slogan at the Board of Trustees workshop on Monday. Following the unveiling, the Board of Trustees will vote to approve the new logo and slogan.
The meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday in the Davidson Conference Center at Jim Plyler Instructional Complex, 807 West Glenwood Boulevard.
The recent discussion and adoption of the Long Range Plan led the District to pursue the creation of an image that better reflects all that Tyler ISD offers. Additionally, the District's address will change with the opening of Earl Campbell Parkway, leading to a need to reprint district materials. For that reason, it is an appropriate time to update the image with the new address.
The process of designing a new logo and slogan started when Tyler ISD began working with K12 Insight, a company that designs surveys and hosts focus groups to engage district stakeholders in collaborative decision making. K12 Insight held a series of focus groups made up of community members, teachers, students, and district personnel. Members of each focus group shared input and ideas that were incorporated into the design of the new Tyler ISD logo and slogan.
K12 Insight shared the data collected during the focus group sessions with cue:creative, a local branding and marketing agency that donated their creative services to produce the new logo and slogan. cue:creative then worked with members of the Tyler ISD administration and Board of Trustees to finalize the design of the logo and wording of the slogan.
As Tyler ISD phases in the new logo, the district will utilize non-taxpayer generated funds or update the image as materials need to be replaced.
