EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Texas Department of Transportation spokesman Larry Krantz announced road projects taking place across East Texas over the next week.
In Van Zandt County, maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue approximately three weeks of pavement-repair work on U.S. 80 between FM 859 in Edgewood and Texas 19. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress. Motorists should be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zone.
In Wood County, maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue seal coat operations on FM 3056 between US 80 and FM 778. Once that work is complete, crews are scheduled to seal FM 312 between Winnsboro and Pine Mills, which should take approximately two weeks to complete. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers and pilot vehicles will control traffic. Loose gravel may be present for several days following a seal coat application.
In Gregg County, maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform resurfacing operations on FM 1845 between FM 2605 and the Upshur County line. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic in two-lane areas.
In Cherokee County, maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform resurfacing operations in FM 23 and FM 752 south of Rusk. A second crew will perform shoulder work on FM 177 and FM 3052 near Mixon. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic in two-lane areas.
In Smith County, maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform base and pavement repairs on Interstate 20 and ramps associated with Joy Wright Mountain Road, and in various locations on US 271 north if IH 20. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
In Anderson County, beginning Tuesday, maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform resurfacing operations on FM 322 between Loop 256 and SH 294 south of Palestine. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers and pilot vehicles will control traffic.
In Henderson County, maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue base and pavement repairs on FM 1615, between SH 19 south of Athens and the end of state maintenance. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
