TYLER (KYTX) - On Friday, Pastor Dan Cummins told "Grassroots America, We the People" our country was built on prayer. Cummins said it's going to take those same prayers to restore a nation, he said, has lost its way.
"Pastors need to be informed, they need to be engaged and they need to be educated if we're to preserve our faith, freedom and family in America," said Cummins.
Chick-Fil-A President, Dan Cathy's, biblical view of marriage, has created a firestorm of opinions from both liberals and conservatives.
Both sides feeling like they've been attacked.
"Those on the left who claim to be tolerant or very intolerant of those of us on the right who want to express our views in the marketplace," said Cummins.
Some people gathered in this room feel the country has lost its Christian values.
"We've got to return to God, We got to stand up for our biblical principles," said Anthony Bruner.
While others feel there's a lot of arguing on both ends that needs to be resolved.
"We're competing against each other and finding no solutions for the good of this nation that we need so badly," said Arless Wilson.
Pastor Cummins makes his message very clear.
"Why has our Christian heritage been deliberately moved from the text books, while gay pride history ordered by the courts into them?" asked Cummins.
He wants Christians, especially pastors, to stand up and fight for faith, freedom and family. Something he feels has been trampled on while people sit and do nothing.
"We have men in pulpit. We have men on capitol hill. They don't have a lick of sense God gave a goat to know the difference between rain and death and destruction that's on its way," preached Cummins.
His message stirred up the people of this room as they try to unify a nation at odds.
"Get together through love, through the love of this country and work together on it and we can solve some problems," added Wilson.
