Dallas Cowboys first-round draft pick, cornerback Morris Claiborne, will be sidelined for the next week or so due to a sprained MCL in his left knee. The rookie had an MRI Friday after sitting out the team's afternoon practice in Oxnard, California.
The former LSU great says he injured himself on Wednesday but hoped to continue to practice. The team had a day off Thursday and when he returned to the field Friday, he realized he couldn't play through it.
The cornerback spent Saturday's morning walkthrough with secondary coach Jerome Henderson, learning the defense by watching his teammates. Claiborne missed the entire offseason while recovering from left wrist surgery. Orlando Scandrick has taken his spot with the first-team defense.
