Posted: Updated:

(KYTX) - There has been an outpouring of support for a teen lifeguard who's facing a huge bill after saving a boy's life.

The story has gone viral.. after saving a 12-year-old boy from drowning, 17-year-old lifeguard John Clark thought the ambulance ride to the hospital was just standard procedure.

Then a bill came in the mail.

The total cost for saving a boy's life?? $2,600 dollars.

"I saw the physicians bill, it was $300 dollars, and he gave me a cup of water and a blanket," says Clark. "The ambulance ride was $1,900 dollars and I got my blood pressure checked and they gave me some fresh water."

Clark says after the story got out, donations came pouring in to help foot the bill. Clark says any donations over the $2,600 dollar mark will go towards his college fund.
