Gladewater man earns prison time for impersonating officer

GILMER (KYTX) - A 46-year-old Gladewater man already sentenced to 200 months in federal prison earned state prison time recently in an Upshur County court.

District Judge Lauren Parish sentenced Edward Charles Lee to a maximum 10 years in prison on two charges of impersonating a public servant, plus 15 years in prison for two burglary of a habitation charges. Parish handed down the sentence on Friday after Lee plead guilty to all four counts.

Lee will serve those sentences concurrently after completing more than 16 years in federal prison for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. He received that sentence in April, after authorities found that he had possession of a stolen firearm.

In another criminal case, Parish accepted a guilty plea from 21-year-old Devadus Tyrell Nelson, of Longview, and sentenced Nelson to 10 years in prison for robbery.

Also sentenced were:

Roosevelt Faggett, 73, of Gladewater, to five years' probation after pleading guilty to deadly conduct;

Sherry Lynn Ross, 33, of Gilmer, to two years in state jail served concurrently on two marijuana delivery convictions;

Jennifer Fluellen, 38, of Leesburg, to 80 days in county jail after pleading guilty to misdemeanor theft; and,

Desiree Lewis, 37, of Gilmer, to five years in prison for bail jumping and two years in state jail for copper theft.

The cases were prosecuted by Upshur County District Attorney Billy Byrd and assistant prosecutor Edward Choy.
