(CNN) - Jared Lee Loughner is expected to plead guilty today to that 2011 mass shooting outside a Tucson, Arizona supermarket.

That plea could happen if a judge finds Loughner competent to stand trial. Loughner had earlier pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder charges. Prosecutors say Loughner killed six people in the shooting. 13 others were injured - including Gabrielle Giffords - who has since retired from Congress.
