NORTH DAKOTA (KYTX) - A 24-year-old Lufkin man is in a North Dakota jail, charged with fatally shooting another Texan and wounding an Arkansas man.
According to KX News in Bismarck, N.D., authorities said Victor Scott Lamont shot 57-year-old Gerald Schild, of Katy, and 38-year-old Travis Lomax, of Fort Smith, Ark., at a crew camp near Tioga, N.D., shortly before 10:15 p.m. Saturday.
Shild was pronounced dead at a local hospital, while Lomax was treated at Minot, N.D., hospital and released.
Lamont faces a murder charge but has yet to make a formal appearance in court. All three men worked for the Michels pipeline company.
The shooting is still under investigation.
