LAKE CHEROKEE (KYTX) - Elderville/Lakeport Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a two-acre fire today in a heavily wooded area between Lake Cherokee and FM 2011.

According to David Abernathy, Texas Forest Service regional fire coordinator for East Texas, no structures were damaged and no injuries were reported. The forest service also reported that a one-acre fire today in Houston County was also contained.
