TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler police are investigating an aggravated assault Tuesday afternoon that sent a teenager to a local hospital.

At about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a call in the 1300 block of West Elm Street. They found that 18-year-old Erik Betancourt suffered a BB gun shot at his home. Betancourt to transported to Trinity Mother Frances Medical Center with what was described as "major injury," according to the Tyler police media report.

No arrest has been made, and no other details have been released.
