ET man, Dallas woman jailed on drug, fugitive, weapons charges

Posted: Updated:

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - A routine traffic stop on Interstate 20 late Tuesday resulted in the arrest of a Broaddus man and a Dallas woman on numerous charges.

According to an arrest affidavit, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper noticed a Dodge pickup traveling east with a defective license plate. During the traffic stop, the trooper learned that the driver, 25-year-old Justin Louis Swenson, had a suspended and expired driver's license with a previous conviction. His passenger identified herself by a fictitious name, but "after a lengthy roadside investigation," the trooper learned that the passenger was 26-year-old Lacy Shae Gatlin, who was wanted in Dallas County on parole violations for theft of firearm, theft of property and drug possession charges.

A search of the vehicle turned up an open container of beer in the center console.

Gatlin remains in the Gregg County Jail on $1,500 bond for marijuana and failure to identify charges. She is being held without bond on the Dallas County charges.

Swenson was charged with driving with an invalid license with previous convictions on that charge, plus hindering apprehension of a known felon. He remains jailed on $5,500 bond.
