LONGVIEW (KYTX) – A 27-year-old
Longview man remains jailed today on his third assault charge in less than a
year.
Police say Brenton A. Bennett
assaulted three men at the Lone Star Motel, in the 1900 block of East Marshall
Avenue. According to an online police report, Bennett threatened 31-year-old
Bhavesh Patel, 51-year-old Darryl Harris and 61-year-old Shashiben Patel with a
deadly weapon.
All four men listed Lone Star
Motel as their home addresses. Officers were called to the motel shortly after
1 p.m. Monday.
Bennett remains in the Gregg
County Jail on $7,500 bond, charged with second degree aggravated assault.
Exactly one month ago today,
Bennett accepted 18 months' probation after pleading guilty to an assault
causing bodily injury charge he incurred in October. Bennett was also arrested
on a separate assault charge in March.
